IN the end this turned out to be quite an easy Worcester Sun-day Division Two win for Radar although it was not really until the last 20 minutes that they saw off a determined Oak Apple side.

MALVERN RADAR 6, OAK APPLE 1

Radar started well and created a number of chances and the first goal came after 20 minutes following a flowing move. Tony Bishop broke up an attack in the right back position and his pass found Darren Loader who quickly moved the ball onto John Rooney on the left wing, he held the ball up nicely before crossing to Nial Henderson who made no mistake with a bullet header.

Oak were soon looking for the equaliser with Richard Green and Arshad Mahmood both hitting the post with well struck shots from the edge of the box and Kevin Insall heading over from close range.

The second half started with Radar looking a bit slap-dash and it was no real surprise when the visitors deservedly levelled. Yapp's cross was only partially cleared to Kevin Kilmartin who curled in an excellent shot from 20 yards.

This stung Radar into action and, when Trevor Bagnall crossed from the right, the ball dropped nicely to Andy Myhill who clinically volleyed the ball in from 15 yards.

Rooney took centre stage for the next 20 minutes with a quickfire hat-trick, his first goal was headed in from extremely close range after Tony Bishop's cross was just too high for the Oak keeper, the second followed two minutes later when he took a quick free kick curving a shot into the net with the Oak defence trying to sort out a wall, and his third was a close-range header from another fine Bagnall cross.

Darren Loader completed the scoring in 84th minute with a scorching low shot from 22 yards to make it 6-1.

This Sunday Radar away to Lakes Sports, meet RSRE Club 9.30am.
