ON Sunday, Malvern Ladies FC travelled to Cam Bulldogs who are second in the league.
CAM BULLDOGS 1, MALVERN LADIES FC 2
Malvern started very well with some good passing from their midfield, which kept the Cam defence under continuous pressure, but Malvern failed to create many goal scoring chances. Half time 0-0.
The second half started with Malvern Ladies doing all the attacking, but it was Cam Bulldogs who got the first goal totally against the run of play, when a through ball opened the Malvern defence and was shot home giving Malvern keeper Sharon Coxhead no chance.
Ten minutes later Malvern drew level when a cross from Hayley Presley fell to Emily Prosser who fired home from ten yards.
Malvern continued to pressurise the Cam defence and were rewarded in the 86th minute when Kate Morris received the ball on the left wing, beat two defenders with ease, cut inside the third and crossed to the back post where Hayley Presley volleyed home with a right foot shot giving Malvern a well deserved win.
Sharon Coxhead had a confident game in goal and Kate Boulton also played well with excellent distribution of the ball.
Malvern Ladies, who are sponsored by First Floor Flooring, next game is on Sunday (November 18) against Warden Hill at Victoria Park, kick-off is 2.30pm.
