WYVERN travelled to Victoria Park for this Sunday division two game and met an Express side determined to take the points on behalf of founder member Michael "Bilko" Brookes who sadly passed away last week and will be missed by many.
EXPRESS '88 FC 3, WYVERN UNITED 0
Kicking down the slope in the first half Express dominated from the kick off and enjoyed the majority of possession despite being unable to break the deadlock. Mark Taylor hit the post and Rich Clack had an effort cleared off the line before Matt Clifford seized an excellent opportunity to beat the keeper and give Express the lead at half time.
After the break Express continued to dominate and their goal was never threatened, unlike previous weeks however they managed to turn this possession into goals and Mark Taylor made it a two goal lead on the hour, beating the keeper with the coolest of finishes and effectively finishing the game.
Despite three second half injuries Express carried the game forward and substitute Sean Clarke finished the scoring with a great strike from the edge of the box.
Rich Clack led by example to be deservedly voted man of the match for Express, and thanks go to Quest Communications for their sponsorship.
This Sunday Express are away to Martley Spurs Reserves, players meet 9.30am prompt at Express Inn.
