NEWTOWN Sports Boys started this Mercian Elgar Under 15's Junior League game badly, going a goal down after ten minutes.

Newtown's reply was straight from kick off when the prolific Curtis scored with a good header and Will Coomer scored in the 23rd minute with a cross shot which sailed over the keeper. Droitwich had the chance to equalise in the 33rd minute but missed a penalty.
Droitwich scored in the 48th minute to equalise with a bullet header. Newtown found themselves 3-2 up when the ball fell to Adam Curtis 20 yards out and he hit a superb volley. Newtown keeper Andy Cullen kept his side in the match with three excellent saves to give Newtown an excellent win.

Next Sunday Newtown visit Evesham Colts in the first round of the Cup, players meet at 12.45pm at Lower Howsell for 2pm kick-off.
MALVERN TOWN WANDERERS 4, INKBERROW EAGLES 0
INKBERROW were the latest visitors to Sling Lane to hosts Malvern Town Wanderers in this Mercian Elgar U13's Junior League encounter.
It took 12 minutes for the home side to break down the visitor's defence with Michael Dicapita finishing tidily from close range.
The second half saw the Wanderers camped in the Inkberrow half with keeper Ashley Bennett completely unused. Luke Arnold made it two driving home an angled strike from eight yards out. Michael Dicapita doubled his tally for the third after turning the defender and drawing the keeper. Chances after chances were being squandered until Bruce Rogers blasted home an unstoppable shot from 30 yards.

THIS Mercian Elgar U13's Junior League match saw Newtown return to form and they played some excellent football.
Within two minutes a David Reynolds free kick into Lyppard's box was only half cleared and Matthew Lakey made no mistake scoring from ten yards. Newtown pressed hard and Lee Jenkins and David Reynolds were denied by the keeper. It wasn't until the 24th minute that Newtown scored again when keeper Tom Soley's clearance was met by David Reynolds who found the back of the net. Just before the break Joe Ball's corner fell to Michael James who scored Newtown's third.
The second half saw good performances from Darren Peddler, Tom Ferguson and especially Kris Denslow who tackled with precision and laid off some exceptional passes. Newtown conceded a second half goal but both James Philpotts and David Reynolds hit the woodwork.

WELLAND JUNIORS 0
NEWTOWN began this Mercian Elgar Under 12's Junior League game well with Ferguson scoring quickly after the kick off.
Minutes later a cross from Buckland enabled Johnson to score. Harris chipped the ball over the Welland defence for Ferguson to calmly place the ball past the keeper. Buckland put Ferguson through down the right then he crossed it into the box and Johnson scored with a fantastic volley. Welland tried hard but just couldn't get through the Newtown defence. Some well timed passes by Newtown gave Ferguson the chance to score two more. Some quick interchanging passes between Thomas and Johnson put the ball through to Harris who crossed the ball in for Ferguson to score with a cracking header. After some nice passing from Newtown, Harris collected the ball and ran into the box striking with his left foot a powerful shot into the goal.
NORTHWICK GREEN 5,
MALVERN TOWN WANDERERS 5
THIS exciting match in the Mercian Elgar U12's Junior League ended with honours even.
Northwick attacked from the kick off and were quickly three goals up. However Wanderers then got a grip on the game with excellent play and distribution by Luke Butler in central midfield. He created chances for Jack Higgs to get two fine goals before half time.
Playing downhill on a big pitch in the second half Wanderers continued to control the game. Jack Higgs scored again, and Rhys Coles and Luke Butler gave Wanderers a clear 5-3 lead. But Northwick fought back, got the two goals to claim the draw and both teams were relieved by the final whistle.
NEWTOWN SPORTS COLTS U11S 3, DROITWICH LIONS 0
LAST Saturday Newtown Sports Colts hosted Droitwich Lions in this Mercian U11 fixture.
The game was fairly scrappy until the Colts got into their rhythm and it was substitute James Gath who opened the scoring when he scored direct from the corner.
In the second-half, David Roskams and Max Elmes provided the defensive platform for the midfield. James Gath got the second, following some fine work down the right, his cross deceived the keeper and flew into the far corner. As the Lions tried to salvage something from the match, there was more space to attack and the Colts played some great passing football. The Colts third followed another flowing move finishing with Powell finding Edwards who slotted home from in front of the goals.
This means the Colts (sponsored by Cotteswold Dairies) maintain their 100 per cent record for the season.
MALVERN TOWN WANDERERS 3, DROITWICH SPA RAVENS 0
MALVERN Town Wanderers secured victory over their skilful and hard working opponents on Saturday in the Mercian Elgar U10's League.
It took a goal of the highest quality to separate the evenly matched sides just before the interval. Josh Asquith collected the ball from a throw in and volleyed the ball into the top corner.
After half time Ravens refused to surrender and were unlucky when their striker's shot hit the post. Wanderers' advantage was doubled minutes later when Josh Asquith's corner deceived the Raven's defenders and their final goal came from a corner when the keeper managed to punch away a powerful header from Josh Ball but only into the path of Alex Wren who made no mistake with an unstoppable shot.
NEWTOWN SPORTS COLTS 1, LYPPARD RANGERS 3
NEWTOWN were very unlucky not to get a point from this hard fought Mercian Elgar Under 10's Junior League fixture after playing some of their best football of the season.
Early on Lyppard dominated the game and after five minutes a powerful shot saw Lyppard took an early lead. Simon Harper for Newtown made some excellent saves in goal but Lyppard slipped a second past him into the corner to go 2-0 up.
The second half saw some excellent play from Newtown before Ashley Herron's shot at goal hit the side netting. After another great save by Simon Harper a huge goal kick found striker Phil Lyle who powered his way through Lyppard's defence and finally the ball found the back of the net for Newtown. It looked like Newtown would go on to equalise when a corner from Joe Bament saw captain Mat Lewis head the ball just over the bar. Lyppard then went on to score a third goal on the breakaway.
Colts would like to say a special thank you to Phill Lyle who leaves Malvern to live in Cornwall. Phil was the Colts' top scorer last season and will be greatly missed by the team.

WORCESTER RANGERS 0
NEWTOWN maintained their 100 per cent start to the Mercian Elgar U9's League season when they defeated a spirited Worcester Rangers.
Newtown won a succession of corners and Crews nodded the ball into the path of Matt Wren who unleashed a drive into the roof of the net and minutes later he hit the underside of the bar.
Coach Loader rang the changes at half time including Wren donning the gloves. Worcester almost equalised within ten seconds of the restart, the Newtown defence was in disarray as the forward ran unchallenged directly on goal but Wren proved his versatility with a fine save.
Newtown now settled and Freeman found Parker who crossed into the box where Mallet fired the ball goalwards where Ryan failed to gather and the ball trickled over the line as Newtown made it five wins out of five.

LYPPARD RANGERS 0, MALVERN TOWN WANDERERS 3
WANDERERS achieved their third successive win in the Mercian Elgar U9 League.
In a tight first half the Wanderers defensive partnership of Scott Rogers and Alex Stockwell was rock solid, as was the goalkeeper Kit Holden, who maintained good concentration and composure throughout the match. Jonathan Howie and Jordan Johnson combined well in midfield, and Wanderers were unlucky not to be leading at half time, when Harry Gregory fired his well struck penalty kick just wide.
Early in the second half Tom Dunne found Jack Probert who scored a great goal, providing a turning point that led to a period of Wanderers pressure. Shortly afterwards Adam Green repeated his trick of scoring just after coming on and it was his excellent pass that lead to the third goal which was well taken by Jonathan Hughes, rounding off a memorable victory against one of the league's best teams.
