RED Lion Falcons continued their excellent recent form with a 5-1 drubbing of second-placed Pillar of Salt at the Chase on Sunday.
RED LION FALCONS 5, PILLAR OF SALT 1
following up two cup wins, the Falcons finally got their league season back on track against a side who had only lost one league game.
Dave Jenkinson was again the goal scoring lead, with two more for his tally, while John Fenwick chipped in with a spectacular free kick and Rich Lambert and a superb Rich Bryan volley completed the rout. Defender Fenwick deservedly shared the man of the match award with the industrious midfielder John Rose as another tremendous all round performance stunned Salt, victors by six goals to two when the teams met six weeks ago in Droitwich.
This victory should give the Falcons a perfect springboard from which to build, starting with Sunday's game at RM Dears Leap - another side they have already lost to this season. Despite having a couple of players out this Sunday, several recent new signings have bolstered the squad and they may get their chance to shine this week.
The Falcons would like to thank the Anchor, Yates Hay Road for their sterling post-match hospitality. Long may the association continue.
