THE judge in the genetically modified crops trial at Worcester Crown Court is expected to send the jury out on Monday to consider verdicts.
Former teacher Barbara Charvet, aged 59, of Michaelchurch Escley, and gardener James Ridout, 26, of Orcop, both in Herefordshire, deny criminal damage.
The prosecution alleges they deliberately destroyed GM maize on a research site at Rosemaund Farm in Preston Wynne, near Hereford.
The defendants insist they had a lawful excuse because they feared GM crops would contaminate other plants and put the food chain in danger.
Judge Ian Morris is expected to complete his summing up send the jury out on Monday.
