TWO raiders masqueraded as policemen while they ransacked the Evesham home of an elderly man.
The burglars broke in through an upstairs bedroom window of the house in Princess Road at around 8.50pm on Wednesday, November 14.
They searched the upstairs rooms before going downstairs where they found the elderly man watching television.
One of the conmen told him they were police officers looking for burglars while the other searched the house.
They then made off in a red G-registered Vauxhall Cavalier. No violence was used against the victim, and nothing was stolen, but the man was shaken by the incident.
The first man is white, short, 35-years-old, strong build, clean-shaven with short brown hair and wore a grey coloured jacket.
The second was white, 20 to 35-years-old, strong build and clean-shaven.
"We've been able to speak to the witness and I'd appeal to anyone else who saw anything suspicious or who has any other information to contact me on 01905 723888, quoting reference c/533537," said PC Phil Schoenrock.
