A BID for funding is the next step forward in making a skateboarding park in Worcester a reality.
The favoured site is at Perdiswell Young People's Leisure Centre and the scheme's supporters plan to apply for a Government grant.
"We've got the application form and need to follow the guidelines with the bid," said Councillor Derek Prodger, who is backing the cause.
"We must complete the bid in the proper manner so it's successful."
Coun Prodger said the skateboarding park would be hopefully be built in Perdiswell, although a location in the north of Worcester is also being recommended.
Criteria
At a recent meeting to it was questioned whether Perdiswell met the right size criteria and whether it would be suitable for a skateboarding park.
"This is hopefully the successful site," said Coun Prodger.
" It's not going to be quick and it doesn't happen overnight."
Other people heavily involved with the project are PC Chris Stinton, Phil Weston, manager of Perdiswell Young People's Leisure Centre, and Chris Waterfall, parks development officer at Worcester City Council.
"My role is one of technical support," said Mr Waterfall.
"It's at a very complicated stage at the moment - complicated because there are a lot of people involved.
"We're now looking into the next stage and we're having a meeting on Tuesday, November 27, to see how we can put the bid together."
