HEREFORD golf star David Park is setting the pace after the fifth round of the European Tour Qualifying School in San Roque, Spain.
He has hit a rich vein of form and is leading by one from South African Ian Hutchings on 17 under par.
Park's impressive string of scores for each round have been 69, 73, 67, 65 and 69. To miss out on a card he would probably have to score 84 in the last of six rounds today.
Evesham's Jeremy Robinson is joint 14th and still very much in contention after scores of 72, 71, 70, 72 and 68.
The top 35 players will get European Tour cards for next season's circuit.
But former Ryder Cup stars Philip Walton and Paul Broadhurst are both trying to keep their careers afloat and to make it through Walton probably needs a course-record 64 and Broadhurst a 68 in the final round.
