A horse rider hopes the funds will come galloping in when she sets off for a 100-mile trek in Jordan.
Kate Pearce, of Wichenford, near Worcester, will join 35 people from around the country for a five-day ride across Jordanian countryside on Arab horses.
"I am looking forward to seeing the beauty of Jordan and Petra, the peace and tranquillity of the environment and of course the riding," she said.
All the riders have pledged to raise £2,000 each for the International League for the Protection of Horses Challenge.
Future fund-raising events include a family disco on Saturday, November 24, and a coffee morning in Broadway village on Saturday, December 1.
