failed to explain the implications of the code of practice regarding the relationship between suppliers and supermarkets to county farmers and growers, according to MP Peter Luff.
Earlier this year, a Competition Commission investigation found there was a need for such a code to stamp out the growing abuse by British supermarkets of their British suppliers.
Mr Luff said Worcestershire growers, especially those from the Vale of Evesham, have frequently complained about abuse from buyers.
He continued: "I will be pressing ministers to give proper publicity to the code in the county, and to monitor effects.
"If it's as pathetic as Friends of the Earth fear, then it will have to be reviewed and strengthened urgently."
