A TEENAGE boy has died after being in an accident with a car in Evesham.
A 14-year-old girl was also reported to be injured in the accident, which occured yesterday teatime in the town.
Police are appealing for information about the incident, which involved a silver Vauxhall Corsa on Elm Road near the junction of Lime Street.
Adam Smout, aged 13, a pupil at Evesham High School, was with the teenage girl, when they were both injured at 5.55pm.
Ambulance
The youngsters were taken to the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch by ambulance, where the boy later died.
The girl's injuries have been described as "non life-threatening".
PC Adrian Maiden, one of the investigating officers, said it was very tragic that the boy had died from his injuries.
"We've spoken to witnesses at the scene, but are keen to talk to anyone else who may have witnessed the collision to come forward," he said. Anyone with information can contact Worcester police on 01905 723888, quoting c/535420.
A post mortem on the youngster was due to be held later today.
