A PRESSURE group in Droitwich is urging the Government to probe decision makers at Wych-avon District Council.
Members of Action for Droitwich (AFD) want the authority investigated following a number of controversial planning issues.
Letters outlining concerns are now being handled by the Department of Transport, Local Government and the Regions and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
AFD launched in June to block plans for more than 100 houses in Kidderminster Road.
Members wanted a supermarket and petrol station built instead and called for a parish poll. Residents voted in favour of a supermarket but councillors still gave permission for the homes to be built.
The group has also supported campaigners fighting to preserve the town's Lido pool and is against Wychavon's plans to develop part of the Saltway car park to make way for a Waitrose supermarket.
AFD spokesman David Perks said: "We're not against progress but we believe decisions are being taken at Wychavon without thought, public accountability and discussion."
Wychavon head of planning Jack Hegarty said: "The council carried out public consultation in excess of the minimum statutory requirements on the Kidderminster Road development and took it fully into account.
"The Waitrose development is unrelated to the other plans.
"The public will have full opportunity to comment on the Waitrose development in the near future when we will welcome comments for and against."
