LICKEY will be unled-ed on Friday night with the welcome return of terrific tribute band Fred Zeppelin.
Four Midland men will storm the stage with classic hits by seventies rock legends Led Zeppelin, at Lickey End Working Men's Club.
Steven Gale, Kev Brown, Steve Black and Keith Jenkins, otherwise known as Fred Zeppelin, have enjoyed a busy year and 2002 looks set to be the same, with a diary already crammed with bookings.
Originally, drummer Steve, bassist Kev and guitarist Keith were a rhythm and blues band. However, their passion for Zeppelin led them to advertise for a vocalist and Fred Zeppelin were born.
After eight years together you'd be forgiven for thinking they may have grown tired of performing, but Steve Black assured the Advertiser/Messenger they were enjoying it more than ever.
He said they have had "a great year" and are looking forward to returning to Bromsgrove where, at Birmingham Road pub The Forest, they played one of their first concerts.
Impressive
The band command an impressive following of fans, including lead singer with the original act Robert Plant, who has made surprise appearances at three gigs.
Led Zeppelin fanzine Tight But Loose editor Dave Lewis said: "There are quite a few Led Zeppelin tribute bands around, but Fred Zeppelin are the best."
The Alcester Road gig starts at 8.30pm and advanced tickets can be booked by calling (01527) 878092.
