A DROITWICH group, whose main aim is to offer support and friendship to cancer victims, has this week urged more sufferers to come forward.
Droitwich Cancer Support Group has around 25 members who meet once a month at Rotary House, in Corbett Avenue.
Sufferers are able to talk about their feelings with people in a similar situation.
Part of the meetings are devoted to entertainment to take the members' minds off their illness.
This usually includes a speaker who talks about something that has nothing to do with the disease.
A spokesman said: "Quite often with cancer, people think they are the only person going through it.
"The group allows them to speak to fellow sufferers which makes them realise that this isn't the case and they aren't alone.
"Those sufferers who sit at home dwelling on their problems should come along to the meetings.
"We're here to help and support them."
The informal group, which was formed in 1983, holds its meetings on the first Wednesday of every calendar month between 7pm and 9pm.
