SARAH Andrews, married woman, residing in Ipsley Street, was charged with stealing a china ornament and bronze bust of the late Queen Victoria belonging to Harriet Milward on November 9th.
Prosecutrix said the two ornaments produced were her property. They were missed from her house on the night of November 9th.
She asked the bench to deal leniently with the defendant, who she said was under the influence of drink when the offence was committed.
Mrs Milward subsequently offered to withdraw the charge for the sake of the defendant's family.
The bench allowed the case to be withdrawn.
