CHARITY begins at home for a big-hearted Bromsgrove firm which is enjoying global success.

Campus Systems has donated £1,200 worth of computer equipment to the special needs department at Wood-rush High School, in Hollywood.

The gift marked the opening of the company's headquarters, in Sandy Lane, Wildmoor, where the firm's three divisions have been centralised.

Guests had the opportunity to win a computer and free training for their favourite worthy cause -- and the high school was the lucky recipient.

Bromsgrove Tory MP Julie Kirkbride attended the official launch party on Friday November 2.

She said: "There does not appear to be any stopping the exciting growth of Campus.

"From small beginnings via the Prince's Trust, the business has prospered and is now at the forefront of innovative thinking in IT."

Campus, founded four years ago, is a major supplier of IT equipment, services and training to schools, local authorities and law firms. It has customers all around the world.

Company managing director Dan Huband said: "We never lose sight of the wide-ranging help we received when our business was founded.

"Therefore, we periodically like to put something back into the community.

"We could have selected a beneficiary of our own but we felt it would be better for one of our guests to have the pleasure of naming their own charity which will then benefit from the equipment and supportive training programme."

Employing 17 staff, Campus manufactures 100 computers a week but hopes to double that figure during the next 18 months.
