KIDDERMINSTER Harriers moved to within three points of a play-off spot after a late goal by Dean Bennett earned them a 1-0 victory in last night's Nationwide League Division Three clash against Lincoln City at Sincil Bank.
Midfielder Bennett struck in the 85th minute to power Jan Molby's men to their third league victory on the trot - the first time they have achieved such a feat since joining the Football League.
It was also 11th-in-the-table Harriers' third away league win of the season.
It provided the perfect tonic after their disappointing home 1-0 FA Cup first round defeat against fellow Third Division outfit Darlington on Saturday.
Harriers made just one change with striker Colin Larkin returning to the line-up in place of Tony Bird who on the substitutes bench.
Larkin had not been able to play against The Quakers on Saturday because his club Wolves did not want him to become cup-tied.
Kidderminster, on the back of league wins over Bristol Rovers and Leyton Orient, soon began giving Lincoln a testing time, alth-ough clear-cut scoring opportunities were few and far between during the first half.
Bo Henriksen fired over after a couple of minutes and was then just a whisker away from converting a dangerous right wing cross from fellow loan signing Richie Appleby.
Lincoln went close in the 29th minute when defender Steve Holmes rose above Harriers rear-guard to meet a corner from Adam Buckley only for his header to be cleared off the line by Apleby.
Kidderminster soon regained control and Larkin and Appleby both had efforts saved by keeper Alan Marriott.
Just before half-time Larkin mis-sed a great chance when he shot over after good work by Bennett.
After the break Harriers keeper Stuart Brock dealt safely with a couple of Kingsley Black efforts.
Bennett, however, was the hero when he robbed Stuart Bimson and raced through unchallenged before firing in an unstoppable shot.
