A MUSICAL medley is on the bill at the Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham, with a mixture of pop and good old rock 'n' roll.

Tonight is a tribute to Swedish supergroup Abba with Abba Mania, featuring recreations of all the classics, including Mamma Mia, Voulez Vous and Dancing Queen.

It's the turn of rock 'n' roll tomorrow, a genre of music which took the world by storm, was hailed as a communicable disease by American politicians and denounced by church leaders as the music of the Devil.

Hey Rock 'n' Roll captures the golden age of the genre with the UK's finest exponent Showaddywaddy performing more than 50 of the greatest rock 'n' roll tracks ever recorded, including Blue Moon, Rock Around the Clock and Jailhouse Rock.

The Corsettes will also be performing songs by famous females of the era and host Vince Pomagne will ensure there is a Whole Lotta Shakin Going On.

On Friday, Las Vegas rock 'n' roll group The Buck Ram Platters will be taking to the stage as part of their Smoke Gets in Your Eyes tour, which promises to roll the audience back in time to America's golden age of innocence and romance.

The Buck Ram Platters' repertoire includes hits such as Only You, The Great Pretender and My Prayer and are true to the Platters' legacy, having been assembled by their original publicist and business manager.

All three shows begin at 7.30pm.
