STRATFORD Civic Hall is the venue for a modern play set in the Restoration period which explores the lives of the first actresses allowed onto the English stage.
Playhouse Creatures features Nell Gwyn, famous as the mistress of Charles II, Elizabeth Barry, who became one of the finest actresses of the era, and Mary Betterton, who helped run the highly successful Dukes Company and trained many younger actresses.
The play, presented by Second Thoughts Drama Group, contains language which may not be suitable for young children.
It runs at the Stratford venue from next Wednesday until Saturday, December 1.
Tickets are available on 01789 414513.
