WITH the game only four minutes old Fairfield had a great chance to take the lead when Danny Walker's cross was met by Rob Hall, who hit his shot straight at the keeper.
On 30 minutes Fairfield were awarded a penalty when a jinking run by Matt Mogg was halted by a defenders hand ball. Paul Newbon stepped up to score from the spot.
The game was fairly even until the hour mark when a good move between Dave Fox and Paul Newbon resulted in Mogg firing home from 15 yards.
With Fairfield now on top, they increased their lead when some good work by Gary Davies and Hall found Mogg in space and he coolly chipped the keeper to score his second of the game.
In the closing stages Fairfield eased off and Fordrough scored a consolation, although the result was never in doubt. Fairfield's Dave Fox hit a 20-yard drive against the post.
