SPARKLING students from a Bromsgrove dance school dazzled judges at a competition and scooped scores of awards.

Pupils from The Stage Door Dance Academy picked up 45 prizes at the Solihull Dance Festival held on Sunday October 28 and Sunday 4 November.

Thirty-five children aged between six and 14 danced their socks off in 48 routines, including demonstrations of acrobatics, tap, ballet and jazz.

Stoke Heath starlet Hannah Pask, aged 10, picked up three awards, including most promising dancer at the event.

Rachel Vernon from Stoke Prior and Laura Hall from Stoke Heath, both aged 12, received a special commendation for their acrobatic duet.

The academy was also awarded for the best costumes in the competitions.

However, the hard work is not over yet as students have examinations later this month.

The academy holds lessons at Stoke Prior Village Hall, in Hanbury Road. For more information call (01527) 577594.
