REDDITCH schools deprived of a sports hall could soon benefit from a £3.1 million lottery windfall.
The money has been allocated to the county from the New Opportunities Fund to improve sports facilities on offer within schools.
The announcement was made on Monday and it is the largest lottery funded sports programme to be launched.
Worcestershire County Council policy officer Philip Moss said some schools in the town could benefit.
The county council now has to come up with plans on where and how the money can be spent over the next three years.
Mr Moss said the refurbishment and re-development of existing sports halls would also be looked at.
And further decisions will be made in the next few weeks.
