A TOTAL of 80 firefighters were despatched in the early hours of the morning as flames ripped through a warehouse in Salford Priors.
The fire service was alerted to the blaze at Bomford Farm at about 1.30am last Wednesday.
Thirteen appliances from across the south of the county, an environmental protection unit, accident support unit and a hydraulic platform were all sent to the single-storey building, measuring 40 by 50 metres, which is used as a food packing warehouse.
There was a large amount of cardboard in the building, along with four or five forklift trucks, refrigeration units and various other pieces of machinery and equipment.
The fire was put out after a couple of hours but firefighters were still dampening down the building the following day.
