POLICE have been called in to investigate a fire which was deliberately started in a Hollywood flat on Monday.
The living area of the ground floor flat in Shawfield Road was completely destroyed in the blaze, which is being treated as arson.
A fire crew from Redditch and one from the West Midlands used breathing apparatus, hose reel jets and a ventilator to tackle the fire.
And burning furniture had to be dragged out from the unoccupied flat.
Fire crews were on the scene from just after 12.30-2pm.
Also on Monday, Redditch firefighters had to use specialist equipment to cut the roof off a car involved in a traffic accident on the slip road of Junction 2 on the M42.
One person was freed and taken to hospital.
