THE AGM of the Rous Lench & Inkberrow branch took place at The Flyford Arms, Flyford Flavel, on November 6 and was the occasion of the retirement from office of Nancy Reynolds, one of the longest serving members.
Miss Reynolds, who has been a member of the branch for more than 50 years, has also been a member of the general and service committees and has played a vital role as treasurer.
Indeed, she delayed her retirement from this position for 12 months to enable a successor to be found.
Miss Reynolds also represented the poppy sellers at the National Festival of Remembrance at The Albert Hall two years ago. She has agreed to continue as poppy organiser for the branch.
Following the Act of Remembrance, Mr M Mills reported on his recent visit to Bob Smith in hospital, taking gifts from the branch.
Officers' reports were given by president Mr W Gregg, who also reported on the work of the service committee; chairman, Mr P Laight; secretary, Mr J Whitfield and Miss Reynolds as acting treasurer.
The minutes of the last AGM were read and approved and the officers and committee were re-elected en bloc.
It was noted there were four vacancies on the general committee and the branch would be pleased to hear from anybody who would be willing to serve.
Mr R Hunt was thanked for organising the trolley dash, which raised £1,400 for funds, and thanks were also given to the hosts of the coffee mornings and to the branch officers and members for their support at meetings.
