NEXT week sees an acclaimed production of The Nutcracker return to the Birmingham Hippodrome after two years as part of the Christmas season.
Birmingham Royal Ballet presents Sir Peter Wright's production from Friday, November 30, to Saturday, December 15.
The story begins on Christmas Eve, when Clara's family and friends gather for a party.
The last guest is the mysterious magician Drosselmeyer, who gives Clara a special present in the form of a nutcracker doll.
At midnight Clara creeps downstairs to find her doll underneath the Christmas tree but something strange is happening - the magical toys are coming to life.
Performances begin at 7.30pm with mid-week matinees at 2pm and Saturday matinees at 2.30pm.
Tickets cost £12-£32 from the box office on 0870 730 1234.
