A MOTORCYCLIST who crashed through a hedge on a rural Redditch road was lucky to have been found in time to save his life.
The accident, which happened early on Friday afternoon on a bend at The Saltway between Cookhill and Feckenham, was witnessed and an ambulance called.
Paramedic Frank Knight, of Redditch ambulance station, said: "The motorcyclist had suffered severe head and chest injuries."
Mr Knight said the motorcyclist could not be seen from the road or the surrounding land.
The motorcyclist had gone up on a bank, straight through a hedge and across some land before finally ending up in a hedgerow.
A paramedic fast response car from Warwickshire was first on the scene followed by another from Redditch and an ambulance.
But due to the severity of the motorcyclist's injuries an air ambulance was called to take him straight to Selly Oak Hospital.
The rider was yesterday described as critical in Selly Oak Hospital.
