TOWN businesses have pledged financial backing to help keep Redditch Community Transport on the road.
Companies including Prudden Road Surfacing Ltd, Headless Cross, hope to form a consortium to provide vital support which could save the troubled charity after its closure was revealed in the Redditch Advertiser last week.
Others firms include Redditch Roadstone in Arthur Street, Lakeside, and the Litten Tree pub, Market Place.
Lee Prudden, director of Prudden Road Surfacing Ltd, Birchfield Road, said RCT's closure on November 30 would be a sad loss.
Chairman of RCT's parent charity, Redditch Council for Voluntary Service (RCVS), Robert Rainbow, said he was 'keen to pursue discussions with a local businessman who suggested he and fellow businessmen put together a consortium to resurrect the troubled transport project.'
Anyone interested can call Mr Rainbow on 68403.
