I AM researching the history of the Cleeve Prior Home Guard during the Second World War. My late grandfather was Len Edwards (then of 'Kemises House' but later of 'The Laurels') who served in that platoon from October 5 1940 until December 31 1944.
Mr Don Archer, who served in the same platoon, has already kindly given me quite a few details and my father has passed on other information that was told to him either at the time or in the years after the War.
I understand that only a few Home Guard members still survive, but I would be most grateful to hear from them or anyone else with information that was passed down from fathers, uncles, etc. All letters will be replied to.
