Broadway United 0, Ambassador 4
AMBASSADOR won this battle of the top two clubs in Division Three of the Evesham and District Sunday League, writes Mick Clewes.
Their strong, experienced side was always too much for a promising youthful Broadway team who will have learnt much from the game.
Ambassador's front pairing of Steve Crawford and Neil Emms troubled the Broadway defence with their pace and power and it was Crawford who opened the scoring after 15 minutes when he finished off a good run and cross from Mark Young.
Emms should have scored when his speed off the mark put him clear but James Carpenter saved well.
Young also tested the Broadway keeper on a number of occasions.
Crawford dummied superbly after 60 minutes to enable Ashley Taylor to go clear and beat Carpenter for Ambassador' s second and then the United man saved superbly from Young's fierce free-kick.
Stuart Wright performed manfully in the Broadway defence but he couldn't prevent Crawford from scoring the third when he headed in at the near post from Young's corner.
Full back Dean Miles completed the rout five minutes from time when he thundered in a header from another Young corner.
