OUR ancient Wyre Forest nature reserve is being destroyed by English Nature's modern management - opening up massive areas especially for butterflies.
The existing rides were put in about 15 years ago, and they worked alright for the butterflies.
The machine used to clear the area is taking every heather stand, young oak trees, and scrub in its path, destroying all vegetation roots system.
The new rides are so close together that no wildlife can survive in these much smaller blocks.
With dogs out of control - and horse riders and mountain bikers already starting to use the rides - more pressure is being put on the area's wildlife.
Some of the one-metre paths are now 54 metres wide.
There has been a heavy deer cull to reduce the deer population in the last 15 years, to reduce the damage to rides and re-growth but this machine has done more damage than the deer ever did.
We cannot destroy our national treasure for every individual's interest, because there will be no forest left.
