Evesham II 27pts, Leamington II 22
EVESHAM ended Leamington's 100 per cent record as they hit back quickly after a first defeat at Oxford Harlequins.
Winger Phil Parsons crossed for Evesham's first try after the visitors had landed a penalty. Rick Taylor's conversion made it 7-3.
Leamington hit back with an unconverted try but Evesham struck again before the break when Pat Johnson crashed over in the corner.
Leading 15-8 at the break, Evesham were denied early second half possession but, when they got the ball, experienced centre Ted Leonard created the space for Tim Webb to score.
Evesham moved further ahead when Maurice Parkinson released Matt Archer and a successful Taylor conversion made it 27-8 to the home side.
Leamington stormed back to touch down for two late scores but it was too late to save their proud record.
The winners travel to Dudley Kingswinford on Saturday.
