REGARDING Mr Jones' letter (You Say, November 1). Mr Jones states that the new football ground should be able to move only if they are meeting the Technical Services Committee Guidelines, as laid down in 1997 which states that the club must move by means of its own resources or comply with planning permission.
Does he not realise that it will be the B&Q store that will enable them to move under their own resources? If B&Q are willing to support such a venture as this in our city I think we should grasp the opportunity wholeheartedly.
Provision for football in the city is very poor and our children are being deprived of a sporting opportunity. I have to take my daughter to Redditch every week to play in the Warwick league because she is unable to gain the coaching she requires in Worcester.
Most of the boys she plays with play for Droitwich clubs. Is this really what we want for our city and our children?
Mr Jones also suggests joining with the rugby ground and sharing a site. To me, this demonstrates how much Mr Jones really knows about sporting events and the needs of the city. Absolutely nothing.

Blackpole,
Worcester.
