n SO Councillor Derek Prodger does not want a supermarket on the old cattle market site, (Evening News, November 7).

Has he ever tried to do a weekly grocery shop in town?

Not everyone has a car to go to Sainsburys or Tesco. In town we have at one end of the grocery market, Kwik Save, at the other Marks & Spencer.

I know there is also a small Sainsbury's but this involves quite a trek to the other end of town from the bus station.

As for the idea of small shops and businesses, has he seen the state of the old Angel Place market recently - it's empty. I rest my case.
