UNBEATEN Headless Cross Ladies took a step nearer the West Midlands One South title with a 4-0 derby win over groundshare rivals Redditch United women.

The result put Headless a point clear of second placed Fairfield Villa with a game in hand, and pushed Redditch out of the promotion picture, two points behind the top two in third.

But Ladies manager Rob Auld said seventh placed Villa Veterans, who lost 5-0 to Cross earlier in the season could pose the biggest threat to his side.

Vets have only played seven matches because of cup commitments but have amassed 16 points and could go second by winning their games in hand.

But he has injury doubts over Amanda Hill (hamstring) and Natalie Smith (ankle) for Sunday's trip to Southam.

Beth Jarratt is expected to recover from a thigh problem.

REDDITCH United Women are looking to return to the promotion picture after surrendering top spot and losing 4-0 to fierce rivals Headless Cross in successive weeks.

Steve Tayler's side are at full strength for the visit of lowly Knowle on Sunday (ko 2pm) and he needs a win.
