A PIECE of art on the theme of peace has put a Vale school pupil into the second round of an international poster design competition.
Robin Laight, a 13-year-old year 8 student of Pershore High School, won his way through the first round of this year's annual Lions International Peace Poster competition.
His design - Lighting the Path to World Peace - has made it into the district final of the competition, which has attracted more than 325,000 entries worldwide.
The local stage of the competition, intended to emphasise the importance of world peace to young people, was sponsored by the Vale of Evesham Lions Club.
Robin, of Flyford Flavell, hopes to land the top cash prize of £2,500 plus an all-expenses paid trip to New York if he wins the competition.
