EVESHAM Archery Club's 12th open FITA 18m again attracted the country's top archers with Evesham taking the honours in the team competition.
Shooting the five dozen arrow round at 20cm triple faces, Evesham's four of Lloyd Burton (549), Peter Williams (546), Laurence Gregory (538) and Jacquie Williams (499) held off the strong challenge of Redhill and compiled an aggregate of 2132 to secure the trophy.
West Midlands indoor champion Jacquie Williams also claimed gold in the junior lady compound bow event.
National archers Roy Nash (Redhill) and Chris White (Arden) were victorious in the gents' recurve and compound bow sections, while Alison Williamson of the Long Mynd club, currently ranked second in the world, took the ladies' prize.
Llantarnam's Danny Clif-ford set a new record of 578 from a possible 600 to seize the junior gent gold medal.
This was also the first leg of the Worcestershire Garring-ton cup and Evesham took the maximum ten points in the recurve group with scores from Peter Williams, Laur-ence Gregory, Malcolm Porter and Barbara Stanway.
Lloyd Burton, Jacquie Williams and Ian Trout amassed 1544 and received nine points in the compound bow category.
British rankings from the summer's FITA stars show Stanway and Linda Haines 23rd and 25th respectively while Porter is 35th in the gents' list.
Despite only undertaking a limited number of tournaments, three times European Champion Simon Tarplee is the country's seventh ranked compound bow archer.
