A WORCESTERSHIRE company is launching a product that it believes will reduce families' stress on long car journeys.
MetaSystem UK, based at Hampton Lovett, near Droitwich, is launching a series of high-quality LCD colour monitors for use in cars.
The initiative represents MetaSystem UK's entry into the mobile multi-media sector following a joint venture agreement between its European parent company and an Asian manufacturer.
Available in 5.6-inches and 6.8-inches, the monitors feature the latest Thin Film Technology (TFT) and will be marketed under the Samisen brand.
"The joint venture represents an exciting departure for MetaSystem UK into an increasingly popular niche market," said managing director, Mike Hemmings.
He said the company's competitive advantage lay in the quality of the screens, which were compatible with all current makes of in-car DVD and VHS video players and delivered a picture quality "second to none".
Rear-seat passengers can even plug Playstation-type games into the monitor.
"We believe that families who regularly travel long distances by car and those who take touring holidays are likely to enjoy less stressful journeys if children are kept entertained," said Mr Hemmings.
