STEAM train buffs will welcome the release of East Coast Memories, the latest video from enthusiast Michael Clemens, who runs the Wireless Supply shop in Barnards Green.

It has been compiled from the massive archive of cine film taken by Michael and his late father, Jim, during the 1960s.

The video takes the viewer on a journey up the East Coast main line, starting at King's Cross and including Hatfield, Welwyn Viaduct, Stevenage, Hitchen, Cambridge, King's Lynn and Peterborough.

The world speed record for steam locos - 126 mph - was set just before the Second World War on Stoke Bank, just south of Gratham; East Coast Memories shows expresses, including Mallard, the record holder, racing down that bank in 1962. East Coast Memories is available at £16.99 from the Barnards Green shop or Pershore Wireless Supply on 01386 552069.
