MALVERN Town's seven match unbeaten run came to an abrupt halt at home to Ledbury on Tuesday night.
MALVERN TOWN 1, LEDBURY TOWN 5
Malvern, who were missing several regular players through injury, took an early lead in this Express and Star Premier Division fixture when Keith Holmans slotted home from close range.
Poor defending however allowed the visitors back into the game and a hat-trick from Ledbury top scorer Robbie Colwell helped them to a 4-1 interval lead.
Things improved for Malvern after the break, but despite plenty of possession, the home side could not find the goal they needed and it was left to Colwell to finish off a miserable night for Malvern with his side's fifth goal and his fourth in the 74th minute.
Malvern assistant manager Richard Anson said, "Our defending in the first half was diabolical. Overall, we lacked the passion for what should have been a highly competitive game, but can someone explain to me how we can concede just three goals in seven games and then let in eight in just a game and a half?"
