VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help bring a little Christmas cheer to the streets of Upton.
Businesses, sponsors, shopkeepers and the Upton Tourism and Trade Association (UTTA) have clubbed together to buy 80 Christmas trees.
Now UTTA chairman Bill Dovey is appealing for help to put lights on them and fit them to the brackets on High Street, Old Street, New Street and Court Street.
"We've started trimming the trees and we hope to have finished most of them by Sunday, which is when we need people to give us a hand," he said.
"We would really like people with ladders to come forward but even if they can't climb ladders, they can help with fitting the lights."
Anyone wishing to lend a hand should meet at the Heritage Centre at 9pm on Sunday morning. The switch-on of the lights will take place on December 3.
