MR C F Taylor's letter in last week's Malvern Gazette is a classic example of 'perfection' being 'the enemy of the good'. A pontoon bridge may not be the final answer to Upton's flooding woes, but it would help.
As is indicated in the Minister's response to my question last week, Upton is currently being offered nothing by the Government; this is despite being the place where Mr Prescott promised an extra £51 million for flood relief.
I will press on relentlessly to achieve some relief for the town from the effects of flooding. Mr Taylor's sniping does not help.
SIR MICHAEL SPICER MP, House of Commons, London.
