WE have just endured another Fireworks Festival. I say 'endured' because, whilst the sight of the rockets is pleasant enough, their loud bangs make an intolerable noise.
In residential area, cannot fireworks either be prohibited or limited to silent ones?
Another thing. After our noisiest night on November 10 (the eve of Remembrance Sunday), next morning I found a long stick with a rocket attachment buried several inches deep into our lawn. That was lucky, because gravity might have carried it through a window or skylight, or to break a slate or two in the roof, to dent a car roof or even someone's head.
Surely it should be forbidden to launch such things into the sky?
