ELTON Moncrieff will make a dramatic comeback from injury in tomorrow's clash of the titans at Sixways.
The scrum half has endured a nightmare season with persistent calf trouble but is included in Worcester's squad to face Rotherham in the RFU Senior Cup fifth round (3pm).
Moncrieff signed from Gloucester in the summer but has been unable to play 80 competitive minutes yet for his new club because of the injury which dates back to his Kingsholm days.
The New Zealander attempted to come back against Coventry last month as a second-half substitute but limped off in obvious distress. This time, though, coach John Brain has been careful not to rush Moncrieff back too soon.
"Elton is fit now and will be included in the squad," he said. "We always felt that after he went off against Coventry with the reoccurrence of the injury, we would make sure he was 100 per cent before he made another comeback.
"It's been a frustrating time for him but he is determined to make an impression."
Former skipper Alistair Murdoch is also included in the squad. The Australian winger damaged an ankle in the third round win over Lydney but is fit to start against Worcester's main promotion rivals.
Fly half Craig Chalmers is again ruled out due to his persistent hamstring injuries while Chris Yates picked up an injury in training and Dave Sims is not considered fit enough after a midweek run-out for the National Divisions side in a 33-9 defeat to South Africa A. Richard Smith has not been included to give him a rest from first-team action.
With both sides looking to their league campaign as the number one priority, Brain was playing down the importance of the match.
"The league is our priority as it is for Rotherham," added Brain. "Our games against Rugby and Exeter are more important for us but we would obviously like to beat our rivals on Saturday.
"We know it will be a very physical match, however. I think it's fair to say there is little love lost between the two sets of players."
Squad: Stanley; Murdoch, Garrard, Roke, Hinshelwood, Vile, Yapp, Moncrieff, Pellow; Windo, Davis, Lyman, Moreno, Ross, Hall, Zaltzman, Morgan, Soper, Evans, Clarke, Jones, Carter, Jenner.
