MANAGER John Barton's hopes of strengthening his squad ahead of Worcester City's Dr Martens League Premier Division clash at Tamworth tomorrow were dashed last night after his transfer target failed to meet for talks.
Negotiations have been rescheduled for next week but it seems unlikely the player in question will be signed in time for the home game against Merthyr Tydfil on Monday.
Meanwhile the St George's Lane club expects to hear further developments on their bid for a forward and centre-half later today.
City yesterday submitted a written offer for the pair who are both at the same club.
City face a tough test tomorrow against third-placed Tamworth, but have midfielder Jon Holloway back after missing the FA Cup defeat against Rushden and Diamonds through suspension.
