THE Chase hosted Farmers School from Cirencester last Saturday who were on the last leg of their Midlands rugby tour.
The Chase played three matches, with the U15's victorious by 35-14 and the U16's losing by 17-0.
The Chase U13's also lost by a single converted try (7-0), but the game proved to highly entertaining for the parents as well as the boys as play switched from end to end.
From The Chase U13's point of view, this was a massive step-up in their performance after being convincingly beaten by nine tries to nil the previous week by Old Swinford Hospital Grammar School in the State Schools Cup.
Everyone played well as a team in this match which could have quite easily turned to The Chase's favour had Luke Arnold's penalty kick early in the second half found goal.
Nevertheless special praise must go to lock forward Martin Theaker who competed well in the line-out and props Stephen Young and Nick Hudson who stood firm in the set scrums. But the star of the show and a prospect for the future was hard-working flanker Liam Dunmore who was everywhere and worthy of the man-of-the-match award.
