With their own inimitable brand of toilet humour, Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson return in the fourth installment of Bottom at Hereford Leisure Centre on Wednesday, December 12.

Imaginatively titled Bottom 4 - 2001: An Arse Oddity, the pair are back on the stage after a four-year break.

Based on the provocative and award-winning BBC2 sitcom, the show promises to be "slapstick comedy on acid".

It features two of society's no-hopers, Richie and Eddie, who belch, curse and smash their way through the banality of life.

For their new show, the pair are promising their usual brand of vitriol, tasteless jokes and violence.

"It's a heady mixture of opium abuse and blackmail," said Rik. "I'm hoping to earn enough cash to finally buy the photos back from Adrian."

Among other features, the show includes an exploding parrot, 478 gallons of illegal home-made super-strength banana and raisin ouzo and a diagram entitled 'How to remove Richie's underpants with a chainsaw'.

Rik and Ade shot to fame in the classic 1980s comedy The Young Ones, which Rik also helped to write. Since then, they have starred in numerous TV series, including three of Bottom, and even hit the silver screen.

But they continue to return to the ever-popular comedy. Ade said: "I like the mindless violence and gratuitous farting. Oh, and I quite like going on stage as well."

The show is at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £21.50 and £19.50, are available from the box office on 01432 278178.
