COLWALL travelled to bottom of the West Premier League Division One (Ladies) table Swindon hoping to continue in their recent form.

SWINDON 1, COLWALL 5

Last week's win saw Colwall jump to fourth in the table and a win would consolidate that position and improve goal difference.

Colwall were dominant from the outset and within minutes Sue Williams was unlucky to see a reaction shot come back off the cross bar. The pressure was rewarded however shortly after when Williams fired home a short corner routine.

Constant attacking by Colwall and lack of discipline from the Swindon side provided continued opportunity to score. Karen Hackley and Laura Macfarlane both capitalising to give a comfortable 3-0 lead. Swindon managed a reply before half time catching an otherwise solid defence unaware to scramble home.

Second half saw further disruption, with the match stopped a number of times for foul play and ill discipline by the home side, but Colwall continued as best they could with Jo Dinnie at sweeper and Anna Price in goal providing the platform for the team to attack.

Sue Williams claimed Colwall's fourth and completed her hat-trick late on with another short corner strike.

Colwall could have claimed more goals, but went away reasonably content with the points.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Colwall greet top-of-the-table Lansdown at Ledbury Leisure Centre, 12.30pm.
