STOURPORT Swifts stunned Dr Martens Western Division rivals Solihull Boro with a goal in each half to secure a 2-0 win and a place in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup.
And the victory not only surprised the visitors as manager Rod Brown admitted he thought his depleted side would do well to force a replay.
Brown confessed: "To be perfectly honest I thought our best chance was to get in among them and get a draw.
"We could then go there on Tuesday when I would have more players available."
With a string of first-choice players injured, suspended or on holiday, Solihull were clear favourites to land a place in the next round.
Brown added: "We were always the underdogs for this match - heavily the underdogs after being beaten on Tuesday by Halesowen.
"It wasn't so much about quality early on, it was about matching Solihull in certain areas.
"They started brightly but I had said to the lads that we had to get in their faces, something we did not do against Halesowen.
"When we went 1-0 up it was almost as if they had thrown in the towel. I think after that we were on a high.
"We kept our shape very well and every ball was a Stourport ball. It doesn't matter who you play, if you are winning the ball then you have to have a chance."
And with central defenders Jan Mulders, Asa Charlton and Dave Davies in outstanding form, it was no wonder the visitors threw in the towel.
The trio won everything in the air and Charlton capped his man-of-the-match display with a last-ditch tackle to deny Boro's Andy Lovelock in the closing stages.
Top scorer Lee Booth had given Swifts a 26th minute lead, firing his 10th goal of the season beneath advancing keeper Jason Pearcey following good work by Matt Southwick on the left.
Pearcey kept his side in the game with a number of fine saves throughout the second half, Willie Dunn and Southwick missing out because of his heroics.
But he was helpless to stop Stourport's second - a Gary Knight own goal on the hour, the defender sliding the ball over the line from Dunn's left-wing cross with Nathan Harvey poised.
Swifts have forced three own goals already this season.
The win now leaves the Swifts manager with a problem.
Brown said: "The nice thing for me is that I have a lot of players coming back in the next week or two and that will give me a very nice selection headache."
Swifts: Clarke 6, Southwick 8, Charlton 9, Mulders 8, Davies 8, Shaw 8, Cowley 7 (Knight 76), A Nicholls 8, Harvey 6 (Cooper 72), Booth 7 (T Nicholls 80), Dunn 7. Subs not used: Mountford, Dearlove. STAR MAN: Asa Charlton.
